Like the trip to Iceland, my first visit to Japan was was arranged by the Japan Tourist Board for me alone. However, the Japanese were determined to show me as much as possible during my stay; my itinerary included nine cities in nine days. If I remember correctly, it was: Chiba, Fukuoka, Miyazaki, Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo...I know there was one more, but I just can't remember it.
Of course, I was fed only the finest sushi and tenderest Kobe beef, so I never had the chance to slurp noodles at a street stall.
